retro. Dress up in your favorite 50s attire while dancing the night away to rockabilly
favorites such as Ace Brown & His Helldivers, The Haywoods and Johnny Powers.
At the event you will find the 6th annual “Road Rockets Rumble Hot Rod
Show” and an array of vintage and retro vendors. |

NASCAR superstar Tony Stewart
will drive the special edition No. 33 James Dean 50th
Anniversary Chevrolet Monte Carlo during the NASCAR
Busch Series race at Indianapolis Raceway Park. This
unique and highly special distinctive vehicle will
be fielded by Kevin Harvick, Inc. |

Allstate 400 at the Brickyard
Indianapolis Motor Speedway; Indianapolis, Indiana
Tony Stewart will don his
rebel attire once more on August 6th for the 12th running
of the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard, taking place
at the legendary Indianapolis Motor Speedway. His Nextel
Cup car will triumphantly adorn the James Dean 50th
Anniversary paint scheme as Stewart makes a run for
the checkered flag. |

U.S. Mac Tools NHRA Nationals
Indianapolis Raceway Park; Indianapolis, Indiana
Avowed James Dean fan and
14-time NHRA funny car champion John Force will proudly
flaunt the James Dean 50th Anniversary logo on his
notorious Castrol GTX Ford Mustang funny car at the
Mac Tools NHRA Nationals. Come out and cheer on Force
as he races with Dean to victory! |

James Dean Comes Home - Photographs by Dennis Stock
Just in time for the 50th anniversary celebrations, the Indiana State Museum is paying tribute to Hoosier actor James Dean an exhibition of photos taken by photographer Dennis Stock. Several of the photos are known the world over, while some are rare treats seldom seen by fans. The exhibition, "James Dean Comes Home - Photographs by Dennis Stock," invites visitors into the personal the life of one of Indiana's most iconic native sons. |

Ceremony
Three days before the 50th anniversary of the automobile crash that took the
life of James Dean, State Highway Routes 41 and 46 near Cholame, Calif. will
be dedicated as the James Dean Memorial Junction. |

Back Creek
Friends Meeting
for the Memorial Service for James Dean
2 pm EDT -- Memorial Service in the small Back Creek Friends Church located just south of the Winslow Farm in Fairmount, Ind. where James Dean was raised. The service will be followed by a walking procession to Dean's gravesite in Park Cemetery.
7:30 pm EDT -- candlelight walking procession from the Back Creek Friends Church in downtown Fairmount, where Dean's funeral took place in 1955, to his gravesite. The procession is expected to arrivie at Dean's grave at approximately 8:45 EDT, which would be 5:45 California time -- exactly fifty years after the tragic accident. The James Dean Gallery will supply 500 memorial candles for participants.

NY Stage Production of “Rebel
Without a Cause”
The Barely Balancing Artists
Group’s stage
production “Rebel Without a Cause” has
extended its run at the Lion Theatre in New York
City through the month of October. Catch Jim Stark
live and on stage October 6-30, Thursdays through
Mondays at 8 PM, except on Sundays when the show
will be a 2 PM matinee. Special events are in the
works to commemorate the 50th anniversary “Rebel’s” release

Edgewood High School’s production of “Rebel
Without a Cause”
The Masqued Crafters, an Indiana-based
acting troupe, will open its season with a stage production
of “Rebel
Without a Cause.” Come and check out this James
Dean classic, orchestrated right before your eyes.
Performances will take place November 4, 5 and 6 at
7:30 in the Edgewood High School auditorium in Ellettsville,
